STRUCTURAL
OSTEOPATHY
Musculoskeletal approaches towards
health and wellbeing have been
around for thousands of years.
Still, they become more and more
sophisticated.
It has long been
recognized that our skeletal
alignment is of paramount importance
to a healthy and strong body. Our
bones are held in place by muscles,
tendons, ligaments, etc. The whole
system is covered by connective
tissues and eventually the skin, the
largest organ of our body.
We must consider our body as a
closed circuit. One element blocked
or out of alignment eventually may
cause the entire system to fail. By
using a variety of manual techniques
our goal is to get to the source of
a problem and solve it in a way that
aims at eliminating any recurrence
and is designed to improve overall
vitality and health.
Osteopathy is a treatment approach
which offers in-depth and inclusive
remedial techniques for many
structural and functional
imbalances.
In many cases where
chiropractic treatment with its
direct approach is counter-indicated
or ineffective, osteopathy can still
achieve lasting results without
posing any dangers to a potentially
fragile body.
In an osteopathic treatment the
status of muscles, ligaments and
tendons, as well the connective
tissue is considered. Blockages are
removed prior to any mobilization of
the joints.
Unlike during a
chiropractic treatment, in an
osteopathic treatment frequently the
patient is required to play an
active role. This may involve
resistance, repeat-motion, specific
breathing techniques, etc. on part
of the patient.
Several other traditional manual
techniques are used at the Natural
Medicine Centre. And, while Rivkah
Roth has separate certification in
these modalities, their proximity to
structural osteopathy frequently is
remarkable.

TUI NA
TuiNa is the Musculoskeletal Energy
Balancing Technique of Traditional
Chinese Medicine.
This Chinese
version of a Western combination of
chiropractic and osteopathy is as
old as any of the other Traditional
Chinese Medicine modalities.
The history of this gentle yet deep
Chinese hands-on technique covers
the experience gained over several
millennia.
TuiNa has found many
supporters and these days is rather
fashionable - particularly in
Europe.
TuiNa, or sometimes called AnMo, may
be used by itself or in combination
with acupuncture.
Incorporating the knowledge of the
acupressure technique, TuiNa
prepares the muscular structure of
the body for easier manipulative and
setting techniques.
TuiNa can alleviate...
TuiNa in its pediatric form is
particularly well accepted by
infants and young children due to
its non-invasive nature. |

DORN
TECHNIQUE
The Dorn Technique is a gentle
spinal mobilization technique
developed by a German traditional
healer and systemized by a Bavarian
MD.
At this time Rivkah Roth is one
of very few certified Dorn
Practitioners in North-America.
The spinal and other
joint mobilization
techniques of the Dorn
Technique are based on the
patient's active
involvement.
-
Through light pressure
applied in a
predetermined direction
the practitioner blocks
and secures a specific
joint.
-
The patient then is
instructed to move legs,
arms or head in a
particular manner.
-
It is this motion that
subsequently leads to a
safe and natural
structural realignment
via the surrounding
muscular and tendinous
support structure.
The Dorn Technique is particularly
helpful in cases of...
-
Joint instabilities
-
Back pain
-
Scoliosis
-
Sciatic syndromes
-
Vertebral blockages
-
Neck and Shoulder pain
-
Postural issues

Equi-PRO
TECHNIQUE
Gentle yet effective, this deep
tissue technique, muscular end-zone
based technique was developed by
Rivkah Roth during the
nineteen-eighties for her
performance horses and musician
students and patients.
Since then the Equi-PRO
Technique has been successfully used
for a wide range of human
conditions. It is based on a deep
understanding of anatomy and
physiology. In addition it requires
a strongly developed feel for
connective tissue quality, nerve
impulses, and musculoskeletal
blockages.
The Equi-PRO Technique is
particularly indicated for problems
with...
-
Range of Motion
-
Chronic Lesions
-
Muscle Spasms
-
Muscle Atrophies
-
Nerve Compression
-
Chronic Pain
The
Equi-PRO Technique always
remains respectful of the body's own
limits due to its build and
constitution. Being aware of these
limits this technique is an unique
tool for optimizing of the body's
range of motion and output of
strength and often works even in
longstanding chronic conditions. |
